Grand Gite de Belvianes

Come and stay in this lovely old stone house in the river valley of the Aude where the entire top floor of some 110 square metres has been recently renovated to a very high standard giving spacious holiday accommodation, with private access to a terrace with splendid views and private parking.

It is located on the edge of this quiet village, with stunning, uninterrupted views of the Pyrenean mountains on nearly all sides.

The holiday gite/apartment
On entering the gite, the huge living room is open plan with the American style kitchen housing fridge, freezer, washing machine, gas cooker, hob and microwave. The lounge has a television with the main British and French channels and radio stations. Internet access can also be provided if required. The living room is furnished tastefully and there is a dining area at one side. Just off the living room is an additional cloakroom.

The gite is heated with night storage radiators throughout, together with an enclosed wood burning stove to keep you snug in winter. However the thick walls and double glazing will keep you cool in the summer. There is a large private south facing terrace with tables, seating and a barbeque which can be used as a dining area whilst admiring the fabulous views of the river valley. This area has a private generous area of off road parking alongside. A paddling pool is provided here but the riverside is only 5 minutes walk for anyone wishing to bathe.

There are two double bedrooms both ensuite with large 'double' walk-in showers. One of the bedrooms also has the advantage of a mezzanine area above with a further two single beds so the flat can accommodate 6 - 8 people. Line is included in the price along with towels but not beach towels, as is a hairdryer.

A small welcome gift is provided in the fridge to toast your arrival!

The gite is disabled friendly but not suitable for children between the ages of 1 to 8. For the younger ones a cot, bath and high chair can be provided if required. Please let us know if you require these when booking. The gite is NON SMOKING.

The village of Belvianes et Cavirac (map) on the D117 between Carcassonne and Perpignan has its own privately owned chateau and offers lovely walks through the infamous Pierre Lys Gorge and is located on the Sentier(footpath) Cathare which links the Cathar Castles in the area. There is a restaurant in the village and a dairy/bread delivery van calls twice a day outside. However the village is located only 3 kilometres away from Quillan which has all the necessary shops, along with trains into these two large cities

For the keen sportsperson there are ample opportunities for all types of sport including canoeing, white-water rafting, pony trekking, climbing and mountain biking. Andorra is only 2 hours away for ski-ing, along with the French ski-ing resorts of 1 hour.

The Tour de France usually passes very close by during the month of July and there are other fetes in Quillan including folklore festival (last weekend of July) , canoeing racing days (May) and the Thursday evening markets throughout the summer.

The Mediterranean is 1 hour away for those who love the beach and there are also several large lakes within 30 minutes to bath locally during the long summer months.
